Still the best after all these years!
I used to drink Manhattan Special in Italian Harlem as a kid.
So happy your still in business ..... always on
our table during the holidays
I am 86 years old. As a boy in Brooklyn I watched my father play
Briscola in a shack filled with Italian cigar smoke and the
beautiful sound of Sicilian being spoken. My special treat was to
buy a slim bottle of delicious Manhattan Special. I will order
some of this heavenly nectar soon and let the memories flood
back of the good old days.
Traveled up from North Carolina to New Jersey and while there, hit
the Shop Rite and found Manhattan Special on the lowest shelf in
the beverage aisle. Thanks to a nice Italian guy who pointed it out
and gave me a couple of his secret night caps. Now all I have to do
is find a store in North Carolina that has it??? The quest begins!
I've been drinking this every day on my way to work with ice and
milk. So much better than an iced coffee. Just delicious!
Born and raised on the Lower East Side, Market Street, and we
used to drink this all the time. I now live in MD but everytime
I go up to NY I buy a few bottles. I'm drinking one right now,
ice cold out of the refrig. I'm placing an order today. Yummy!
MY GRANDMOTHERS, BOTH SIDES OF THE FAMILY LIVED
IN SOUTH BROOKLYN, KANE STREET AND CARROLL
STREET. WHEN WE WHERE KIDS WE WOULD GO VISIT AND
MY UNCLE WOULD GO TO A CERTAIN STORE TO GET
HERO'S WITH THE WORKS (OLIVE OIL AND VINEGAR) AND
OF COURSE MANHATTAN SPECIAL. THOSE WERE THE DAYS

65 YRS OLF AND WHEN I DRINK MY FAVORITE SODA IT
BRINGS ME RIGHT BACK TO THE "GOOD OLD DAYS"
Enjoyed as a child in Brooklyn, now plentiful here in Florida.
Why would you drink any other type of soft drink when there
is espresso coffee soda? Starbucks who?!
Have been drinking this for YEARS! Love it. The companies
customer service is "the best"!

Had my first while on holiday in New York courtesy of Famous
Fat Dave's food tour. It's amazing. Not sure how I'm going to
get a supply in Scotland!
Picked one up on a whim here on the Upper West Side. Just
as delicious as I remembered it from my youth in Queens. And
thankful for the sugar-free version. Keep it up!
I grew up watching my dad drink a manhattan special with every
meal. He told me all his stories from when he lived in Brooklyn with
my pop and grandma, and how this is the "real drink of italians".
After I moved out for college, I thought I would never see it again. I
found this cute Italian deli in Montclair, NJ who sells it, and my life
is now complete 🙂 Manhattan Special is more than just a drink, it's
family.
Really miss my daily Manhattan Special Cawfee
drink with cawfee tawk. NOthing close to this in
Montana,
Just had my first, and second, bottle at Giovanni's
in Albuquerque. I love coffee, I love caffene, I
love soda, I love cane sugar and I now love Manhatan
Special! Awesome!!!
Warning, opening at 5000ft is a bit of an
experience. The guys at Giovanni's showed me the
trick.
Thanks
Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, I have been
drinking espresso since 5 years old. Moving to
Florida soon and planning on being a constant
orderer.
I was given a case last Christmas, and felt like
someone gave me a million dollars.
I bought the diet soda and had to check the label
to make sure it was diet. It is delicious. It is
my new obsession.
I love your soda. It makes me go back to fond
memories of Christmas dinner at grandmas house
on Mulberry St in Little Italy. The table was
long and the kids sat on one side on the bed in
this 3 room railroad apartment while all the
adults sat on the other side in chairs. The meal
went on for hours and all I remember was this
wonderful soda that I only drank when I went to
the city. It was so delicous, bottles got passed
around all night of it. There was about 25
people shoved into this little apartment but
what fun we had. Now its 37 years later and when
I take just one sip of it my mind goes like a
hundred miles an hour back to my childhood
sitting at that table. Please never stop or
change this stuff or that memory will never pop
back again. Love you Manhatten Special with all
my heart Christine
Seriously, this stuff is awesome! I grew up in
LI and this was one of my favorite treats. It
makes my day when I run into a place that sells
it!
FORGETTABOUDIT!!! It's the best!
Born and raised in Bensonhurst , Brooklyn I can remember
going to the soda shop with my Father after baseball practice
or LB pizzeria to have slice of square. Days like that I will
never forget even today I still enjoy manhattan special . For
yesterday today and tomorrow thanks .
Never change. I love this drink.
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY drinking Manhattan
Soda nearly daily! Now I live in TX outside of
Dallas, I jump up and down when I find a vendor
who sells the stuff! I'm in my 30's and my
finacee(a Texan Cowboy) gets a kick out of
watching me get so excited over a soda! I got
him to try it and now he's addicted too! I hope
you expand your market beyond specialty shops
and contact some of the mainstream supermarkets
in this area! (HEB, Tom Thumb, Kroeger) The
south needs to taste what is great in NY!!!
Never!!! Never!!! Stop making this product...I
have been drinking this since the beginning of
time...Lived in lower Manhattan as a child...I am
Italian and we as children were allowed to drink
Black Coffee...So Manhattan Special was ok for
the children as well...
Four generations in my family drink this beverage
and I am glad to see they offer de-caffinated as
well as sugar free...
Again you never change a good thing...Thanks for
the memories of family lunches and dinners with
your Manhattan Special at our table always...
The Mammano's, Di Modica's, Voerman's and Troise's
Thank you from the bottom of their Hearts!!!!

I lived on skillman Ave for 23 years... My first
job at 16 was delivering Manhatten Special....
I worked with Earnie and Al Pasaro and thier
Father Mr. Pasaro.. Went all over different
parts of Bklyn....Also worked with a couple of
other drivers going to the BX and Patteron
NJ....Great experience... The neighborhood was
like "Goodfellers"...Everybody took care of each
other..I still buy "COFFEE SODA" at least once a
week...
So happy to have found a vendor in Brooklyn for
your Sarsaparilla! Now if they'd only stock the
Cherry and Cream, I'd be completely content. 🙂
Keep up the great work--your sodas are in a class
of their own.
Just found your website. I discovered MS when I
lived in NY in the 60's. I'm now in Worcester,
Mass and hope I can find it here. Otherwise I
will order it online. It brings back such great
memories.
Born and raised on Skillman avenue between
manhattan and leonard. My younger brother
Anthony worked for manhattan special delivering
soda on the trucks during summer breaks from
school. I remember having a manhattan special in
Charlie Polito's pool hall. Live on Long island
but go to the old neighborhood fairly regularly
and always pick up a case of manhattan special,
it's the best. I also like emily's sausage on
Graham ave, and lets not forget Gasper Como the
barber on Leonard street.. miss the old
days...frankiethet@optonline.net
One of my fondest childhood memories is sharing
an Italian hero and the giant size Manhattan
Special with my parents and my brother. Good
flavors, good memories. Never stop making this
soda. It's amazing. <3!
Love it!
Drinking Manhattan Special since it was in High
School( De Witt Clinton, in the Bronx.) I am now
65. Still the same, Love it more.

Charlie
Always a fan of the Manhatten Special and will
always .I started drinking Manhatten Special
when I lived as a child in the Little of The
Bronx East 187th St and Arthur Ave.
Nothing like a proscuitto & Mozzarella hero and
a bottle of manhattan special
its the best with a sandwich
I've been drinking Manhattan Special since I was
a kid growing up in Brooklyn. There are certain
things in life that should never change, and
Manhattan Special is one of them. I still live
in Brooklyn and I still love Manhattan Special.
It IS a Brooklyn thing. The company got its name
from where it is located. Manhattan Avenue in
Brooklyn N.Y.
Best Wishes to all at Manhattan Special!
Tony Sabbarese
I started drinking Manhattan Special in roughly 1968
when I was 10 years old. My parents were Italian so
I guess they didn't think there was anything wrong
with me drinking coffee. I used to drink 1 or 2 a
day. Only in the last 10 years (I'm 54 now) did I
finally figure out why I couldn't get to sleep as a
child....Manhattan Special. I love the stuff and
drink it every opportunity I get. It's taste hasn't
changed a bit. Keep going strong! 😉
I moved to Texas a few months ago and was excited when I
found out I could order Manhattan Specials online.
I moved out to L.A. quite a while ago. I was
watching a reality show & she was drinking a
M.S. I forgot how much I missed them. I just
ordered and can't wait for it to arrive.
Just tried a small bottle that I brought to work
with me. This stuff with some ice really did the
trick for a man working the graveyard shift on a hot
day. Glad I have some more bottles at home.

My cousin brought some of this wonderful product
to Massachusetts for our family reunion this
past weekend. I am SO GLAD that I found your
site, and hope to be able to buy some Manhattan
Special locally!
Absolutely love Manhattan Special.
Grew up on this stuff and how appropriate
for my 60th birthday my son bought me a
case of it from your Williamsburg factory
Thank you it was the best birthday gift.
Bought back tons of great memories of my
grandmother and summer afternoons spent
with her.
It has been said that Bacchus became the god of
wine because Jupiter wouldn't share the
Manhattan Special with lesser deities. It's nice
be amongst my own kind. I relocated from
Brooklyn to Long Island and am happy to announce
that I located our precious nectar at the local
Shoprite! That's right....Shoprite!
To all my fellow fans who are confused about the
name, Manhattan Special's factory has always
been on Manhattan Ave. in Brooklyn. It is a very
unique Brooklyn tradition and all us
Brooklynites , even myself in South Carolina,
would have it NO other way. Manhattan Special
is truly special.
Growing up in Harlem, I think my mother put my baby nipple on a
bottle because I been drinking it ever sine. It is GREAT....
It was always a favorite of my parents around the
old neighborhood at Arthur Ave in The Bronx. We
had some of the best food in that old Italian
neighborhood. I miss those days but I still have
Manhattan Special since I relocated to Texas.
I grew up going to my grandfather's pastry shop "DeLuca
Brothers" at the corner of North 6th Street & Havemeyer in
Brooklyn. He used to give me a Sfogliatelle & a Manhattan
Special right when I walked into the store because he knew it
was my favorite. I still love them and it brings back great
memories every time I have one.
Forget Starbucks, can't compare to Manhattan
Special!
Love love love Manhattan Special!!!
I love Manhattan Special.
I grew up in Queens and been addicted to Coffee
Soda since I was 17. Thanks to distributer,
Orlando Grecco who brings it to the Mid-West. I
now buy it at an Italian Deli (Glorioso's) in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (WOW!!!) I just got my 2
cases of diet yesterday. I live in the north
Burb's of Chicago (ok, Illinois) and wish I can
someone to carry it in my area. Come on Orlando
Grecco, pitch it to Joe Caputo's....
I came across Manhattan Special at Pop's in Arcadia,
Oklahoma. I am hooked! At first I had no idea what to expect,
except a coffee flavored soda - but it was so much more! The
pure cane, the sharpness of soda water, and the intensity of
the espresso ran across my tongue. It tasted so great! The
after taste was even better. Thanks for keeping this great
soda alive for over 100 years!
Love them.. My grandmother was from Harlem and she
introduced me to this tasty treat when I was a little girl.I
enjoy them today with my family.. Before Starbucks and
dunkin donuts.. Manhattan specials were the originators..
True memories from my Italian heritage...
Bronx, NY. Nicole
CANT WAIT FOR THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT
CARMEL IN BROOKLYN,, A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AWAY
AND YOU KNOW WHAT I WILL BE DRINKING !!! WHY DO
YOU GUYS CALL IT MANHATTAN SPECIAL IF ITS MADE
IN BROOKLYN ??? ANYWAY, I L-O-V-E THIS
PRODUCT !!
I'm an Irishman from the Bronx who got turned
onto Manhattan Special at an early age.Later in
life I married an Italian from the Bronx and we
started doing carnivals on Long Island with an
Italian ice truck selling Lemon Ice King
ices. These ices were great tasting but the
biggest hit was my Frosty Cappuccino creation
Manhattan Special,Coffee ice, milk, blend it all
and top with whipped cream and cinnamon, what a
refreshing treat. Thank You Manhattan Special.
Been drinking Manhattans since the mid 80's growing up and
still living in Brooklyn..no other drink like it..never change it!
My sister sent me a video of memories of Brooklyn,I passed it
along to my sons.my oldest son,age 32, said he remembered
the coffee soda! We move to LA in1989. For his birthday this
month,I will order a case for him as a surprise! Will let you
know how the surprise turns out! Grew up in Bay Ridge
section of Brooklyn
I've been drinking Manhattan Special now for 30
years (or since my parents would let me drink
soda), it is a beverage me and my family always
shared and kept a supply of. Every time I see
it in one of many corner stores or grocery store
it reminds me of my childhood. Keep up the good
work I hope to enjoy Manhattan Special for
another 30 plus years.
Chris
I remember having this when i was a kid in
Brooklyn. Hadn't had it for years but i saw it in
an Italian specialty store here in Jersey and was
so happy to find it has diet. I buy 4 qt.bottles
every week...can't get enough of it!Looking to but
it by the case.
Just tried it after 50 years. I am thrilled to
be transported back to my Italian roots in NYC.
I oredered 4 more cases for my family - even the
non-Italian members.
Always loved drinking Manhattan Special growing
up with my Italian Family. It has an unique
taste of real Italy.
First time that I had the Manhattan Special was at a restaurant called "O Sole Mio." Figured that I would
get one of them since they looked interesting. Now I
get 2 bottles every time I visit the place!
My son is a huge fan of your Manhattan Special and
for a while I could not find it. I am so glad
that is now back in the supermarkets. When my
family comes for dinner I surprise him with a bottle.
I just wanna say that I am 40 years old and I was
born in Queens NY and my father who was born in
Greenpoint Brooklyn NY lived on Manhattan
Special.. I grew up on it from him and I love
it... I currently live in the Richmond VA area now
and I have to get my "fix" of Manhattan Special by
buying a case every 2 weeks through a Pizzeria in
Concord NC called "Brooklyn's". How ironic of the
name of the Pizzeria, right? Anyway, I ABSOLUTELY
love your product and am currently looking for a
retail store closer to me that sells it. I love
Manhattan Special and won't stop until I find a
location close to me, otherwise I have to take
that 3 1/2 hour trip to Concord every other
week...
I grew up in Bath Beach, and worked at the
Emilio Brothers Deli on Bath Ave and 16th Ave.
My FAVORITE treat was an ice cold bottle of
manhattan Special on my walk home. Godd memories
Just needed to tell you, just like so many others, I have
wonderful memories of Manhattan Special. But I also
remember some of the great folks from years ago who were
part of the family that made your product great. I Remember
Michael and Margret Rapissardi. And Albert my cousin Frank
(Toddy) Tuozzo's best friend. We spent many happy times at
the Rapissardi's Oyster Bay home drinking manhattan special
and a wonderful cold drink they made from the syrup that
was made into your other great soda,Gassosa. I'm 69 now
but those childhood memories will stay with me forever
thanks to a wonderful family such as yours! God Bless!
I am 64. I have seen Manhattan Specials in the
stores all my life. Never thought that "coffee
favored" soda would taste any good. Manhattan
Specials are tasty and refreshing. No more
colas for me!
Found this stuff at Glorioso's Grocery in Milwaukee.
First coffee soda I've ever tried... Man, forget
energy drinks! This is so much better! XD

Arlene Napolitano Biamonte
How I love love love you, my Manhattan Special.
The love affair reaches back to the beginning of
my memories and the mid 1970s. The yellow
labeled glass bottle immediately brings joyful
thoughts of family, good food, Brooklyn, my
grandparents, and eventually visits to NYC.
I've lived in the South for many years but I am
a Northerner and try and visit regularly. Find
Manhattan Special is one of the firsts things I
do after leaving the airport.
Grew up enjoying a Manhattan Special with my
family in Brooklyn and Queens. Still to this day
a refreshing change and treat.
I have enjoyed the soda since the 1960s
A Brooklyn boy now in Los Angeles
The best refreshment anytime
I saw your drink on the History Channel and just
had to try to get some. I love coffee and
anything with coffee in it. Hope I find some
near me soon, as I live in South Carolina.
I used to drink these all the time, when I was a Paramedic working
for FDNY. Refreshing and well they always had a little kick. Now I
ordered a few cases and give a few bottles away to friends in the
Christmas Baskets I make for my friends here in Miami Beach,
Florida who don't get back to New York all that much, it always
brings back memories and they always ask where can I get more. If
only more retailers had it in Miami Beach, it would be a real hit ! I
will drink a Manhattan Special over a Starbucks any day !
Married 44 years to Justine Giafone who grew up
on Withers Street off Manhattan Av. I have been
consuming Manhattan Special since before I
married.
reminds me of the old days when I was a kid,
visited my grandmother who lived on Manhattan
Ave. in Brooklyn, around the corner from the
plant. In the summer they would leave the
garage door open and I would like to watch the
guys making the soda. To this day I drink it
regularly. Nice to know some things haven't
changed!
I went to a bagel shop over the summer in Florida
and discovered your soda. I couldn't buy just one!
Maybe if people didn't move away and stayed in the
neighborhood and married and raised their families,
thing would always be the same. Just like Manhattan
Special!!! We drink it almost everyday.
manhattan special is the best and only soda i like.
it brings back memories of visiting my grandma in
brooklyn when i was kid in the 70's. we would walk
around the corner for pizza and coffee soda.
a good friend of mine lived next door to
manhattan special he lived on Skillman ave his

Thanks for having such a great product! Keep it up!
Thank you for continuing the tradition! Only wish it
was more available in Australia. Never let it die!
Thank you for the continuation of a great
tradition. We have a
feast.......www.eastharlemgiglio.com in our old
neighborhood and always make sure your coffee
soda is available. I now live in Yonkers which
has many transplants from the city...though we
miss the city..we are happy for many a Deli here
has your soda.
please send some to South Carolina, the
Charleston area. an Italian deli. just opened in
Summerville and I reminded the owners of your
product since one guy was a Bronx native. I hope
to see you soon here. this South Brooklyn kid
needs his Manhattan Special. Thanks
Your products are the best there is. I read the
labels on EVERYTHING my family eats or drinks
and when I saw how you make your soda I decided
to give it a try. Every one of them is the most
incredibly fine tasting soda I ever had anytime
anywhere! I have been drinking nothing but
selzer for the past 30 years becuase of the
horrid chemicals and artificial everything in
regular soda. Now I can relax and enjoy GOOD
soda! From one Brooklyn Goombah to another -
BRAVO! AL P. fisherdoc.com
My first taste of Manhattan Special was at the
Biscegliese social club in Brooklyn when I was 6
years old 69 years ago. Tastes the same as I
remember. Had it many times since.
Bought it yesterday at Capobasso Fairview 28 Oz
for $2.99.Is there a less expensive store or do
you have a larger bottle?
i was born in italy, this drink brings me back
to old style ways on my home town. bellisimo
I grew up on Arthur Ave, Bronx NY, where my
father owned a Deli. Every day for lunch we'd
have italian heros and manhattan special. Every
time I drink a Manhattan Speical, it brings me
back to the bronx and back to the good old days
After having one of your Espresso Coffe Sodas I
was instantly hit with the lack of an acid after
effect!! What I would give to brew my morning
coffee and have it come off with the non-acidic
smooth taste of your soda! Please let me know if
you sell your coffee or if there is a trick you
can share to keep the acid away from my mug of
hot java!!!
I'm gonna bring you back now. An ice cold
Manhattan Special with a knish at Nathan's, or a
pastrami on rye from Hy Tulip, or how about with
a hot slice from Lenny's pizza or Spumoni
Gardens. Or maybe right after a big bowl of
vanilla ice cream at Jahn's. Maybe with a hot
roast beef sandwich at Roll N Roaster.
Either way, Manhattan Special goes with anything
you wish.
i grew up in staten island but spent a lot of
time in brooklyn with friends, er like coney
island and downtown court street. like your
manhattan specials, coney was one of a kind but
unlike your immortal product, coney isn't what
it used to be. fortunately, your wonderful
life's elixor lives on. i'm now 68, loaded with
wonderful memories, making new ones everyday and
still enjoying your superior products. for all
those who are looking for the fountain of youth,
look no further. one sip of the manhattan
special and i'm 16 again, traveling to coney
island, riding the mechanical horses and haven't
a care in the world. what a way to go!
I have always loved Manhattan Special! After
moving to FL, I couldn't find it anywhere.
Recently my husband checked a new, small-town
grocer & there it was! I was instantly
transported back to happy times with my old
friends in Brooklyn, where we always had a case
of Manhattan Special on ice! Thanks so much for
still making it exactly as I remember! Bravo!
PS: It also makes an amazing float with vanilla
ice cream! Bellissima! Keep up the good work! ;D
this product is the best in the world i know
because i travel it..bless to you all and make the
more......
OMG !! ordered the Gassosa ,
